Martha Jeanette Gregory Miske

Martha Jeanette Gregory Miske, 87, of Pamlico passed away Dec. 21, 2020 at Carolina East Medical Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1933.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Woodard Gregory; father, Julian Gregory; brother, Louis Gregory; and nephew, Eugene Secord.

She is survived by her sister, Aileen Gregory Nuth; brother, Russel Gregory (Nettie); nieces, Debbie Nuth (Steve), Sharon Moots (Tom); nephew, Chad Gregory; great-nieces, Christina Bell, Valerie Bell, Amanda Ward (Timmy); great-nephews, Ryan Bell, Joshua Moots, Lucas Gregory; great-great-nephew, Rowan Ward; and “Happy” her beloved cat.

Jeanette was proud and thankful to be a breast cancer survivor. She worked as a telephone operator for 20 years and was a devoted daughter who retired early from AT&T to come back to Pamlico to care for her mother. Jeanette was a member of the Pamlico United Methodist Church and attended faithfully till her health declined. She never had any children of her own but doted on all her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express appreciation to her cousin, Bootsie Venters, who was like a sister to Jeanette and called her every day, visited, and sent care packages. Also, many thanks to her friend Julia Spencer for her assistance and daily phone calls. The calls meant the world to Jeanette and she looked forwarded to them every day.

In keeping with Jeanette's wishes, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
