Martha Jean Spahr

Martha Jean Spahr (nee Nellis), died peacefully in her sleep May 5, 2021, three weeks after her 101 ^st birthday. She was born April 14, 1920 in Plesant Township near Clark, OH, to Morris (Mickey) Lellis and Gladys Ruth Neer. At the age of eight her mother died, and her father later remarried and Edith Sweet Lellis (Murphy) helped raise her. She attended school in Catawba, OH and later graduated from the Catawba High School. She married Charles William Spahr on Jan 8, 1940.

Martha is survived by her daughters: Sharon S. (Barry) Zerkle of Katy, TX and Rebecca J. (Dr. Marc) Willi of Oriental, NC; grandchildren: Dr. Michael L. (Christine) Zerkle and Shari A. Elasmar PA-C and five great-grandchildren: Anna Zerkle, Caroline Zerkle, Sophia Elasmar, Thomas Zerkle and Omar Elasmar.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Asbury Cemetery in Catawba, OH, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Elderly United of Clark County.
