Marty Dalton Barnes

Marty Dalton Barnes, b. August 24, 1953 d. March 14, 2022, born in Aurora, Beaufort County, NC, named after country singer Marty Robbins.

Preceded in death by his father, Willie Cecil Barnes; step-father, Ralph Rowell; mother, Ida Mae Jones Barnes Rowell; brother, Autry; sisters, Angela  and Lillian; and wife, Kim Gibbson.

Survived by daughters, Emily Tsigarides and husband, Yiotis, and Trish; ex-wife, Pam; sister, Barbara Pegram (Robert); brothers, Jesse (Roberta), Johnny (Sue), Robert (Jean), and Danny (Rose); seven grandchildren, Andrea, Alex, Ayden, Addison, Athena, Aspen, and Atticus; one great-grandchild, Dean Howard; stepchildren, Ethan, James, Heather and Travis; four step-sisters, Kathy, Patty, Barbara, and Marie; and one step-brother, Gene.

He attended Aurora High School. He worked over five years at Brown & Root. Most of his life he worked as a plumber.

He liked watching car racing, Rusty Wallace was his favorite but liked anyone driving car #2. He also watched football games, a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. In the summer he would fish and go crab potting with a friend of his, Dannie. He liked playing horseshoes and cards.

His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19 ^th at Bryant Funeral Home, Alliance, NC.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
