Mary Whitmarsh Batson

Mary Faye Whitmarsh Batson, 82, of Grantsboro went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from Grantsbrook Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was a member of Word Fellowship Church. Mrs. Mary loved her animals and was passionate about supporting rescue efforts for them. She was a member of Pamlico Rescue for 8 years. An avid baker, she made many wedding cakes throughout the years. A loving wife, mother, sister, grand and great-grandmother and friend, will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Una Mackey; father, Ross Whitmarsh; son, Ross Joseph Roberts; and sister, Judith Lopez.

Family left behind to cherish her memory include, husband, Roy Batson; children, Harry Roberts (Debbie), Becky Miller (Danny), Joey Roberts (Joy), and Mitchell Roberts (Anna); seven grandchildren, Sherry M. Riggs (Will), Bryan Miller (Jennifer), Neal Miller (Brittany), Chris Roberts (Connie), Megan Buck (Allen), Tammi Roberts, and Morgan Spear (Jake); 13 great-grandchildren, Macy, Summer, Taylor, Logan, Katie Lynn, Tyler, Ava, Jason, Laina, Tripp, Bodie, Whitton, and Austin; and a great-great grandchild, Austin.

Her funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 28 ^th at Word Fellowship Church with the Rev. Owen Lupton and son, Joey Roberts officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church. Other times at the home of Joey and Joy's in Reelsboro.

In lieu of flowers the family requested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico Rescue, PO Box 302, Bayboro, NC 28515.
