Melinda Sue Rains

Melinda Sue Rains, 48, resident of Craven County passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday, December 6, 2020 after a long and hard battle with congestive heart failure.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date by her close friends and family. Melinda was born on May 17, 1972 in Beaufort South Carolina. She held a special place in the hearts of many and will always be cherished as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She spent 26 years with the love of her life, John Glenn Roth and had three beautiful children and welcomed her first grandchild Emma, to the world. She devoted her time to raising her children and never went a day without speaking on her love for them or her granddaughter. In earlier years she spent much of her time coaching soccer teams for her children.

Melinda is survived by her love of 26 years; John Glenn Roth of Craven County; son, Jessie Lee Roth of Craven County, two daughters; Jon-Marie Ann Roth and Harley Christine Roth of Craven County; Grand-daughter Emma; siblings: Christine Bishop of California, Shannon Bosarge of North Carolina and brother, David Cutler of Maryland. She also leaves behind several loved nieces and nephews. Melinda is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Kelly.
