Myrtice Ida Rae Tompkins Tyndall, 90, of Alliance, passed away Sunday November 14, 2021, at Grantsbrook Nursing Home.
She was born in Brooklyn, Alabama. She met her late husband Myron when he was in the Air Force and came home on a visit with one of her brothers. They married in Andalusia and later moved to Stonewall, North Carolina. She was a member of Alliance Methodist Church. She loved reading and taking her grandchildren to the library and the bookstore. She was a quilter, seamstress, basket weaver and a terrific southern cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Tyndall; parents, William & Flora Tompkins; brothers, Lemetrice, Alex, Bill, Tommy, and Abbott; sisters, Bonnie, Mamie, and Dolly; and a grandson, William Clinton Muse.
She is survived by her sister, Audrey Ballard; children, Lorna Dixon & husband, Bill, Sandra Flythe & husband, Kent, and Donald Tyndall & wife, Lori; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 18 th at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pamlico Rescue Squad, PO Box 302, Bayboro, NC, 28515.
