Myrtie Marie Martin

Myrtie Marie Martin, was called to her heavenly home on July 11, 2022 with her loving and caring family by her side.  She was affectionately known as Mama, Grandma, GiGi and Aunt Rie. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She was born in Pamlico County, NC on March 4, 1950 and grew up on Saints Delight Church Road in the Bridgeton area. After she was married, she returned to Pamlico County where she raised her family. She was a homemaker the majority of her life but spent several years working at Howell’s Child Care Center in New Bern. She thoroughly enjoyed decorating and was constantly painting and changing things around! She was a faithful caregiver to her mother and older brother until their passing. She was compassionate, caring, and would do anything she could to help others. Her family was always her utmost priority.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Matthew Martin and Martha Katie Suggs Martin; two brothers: Albert Martin and William Matthew Martin.

She is survived by her children: Lee Hacker (Terri), Harold Hacker (Paula), Lynn Lewis (Duane) and John Hacker (Kayla);  grandchildren, Leann Cline (Buddy), Danelle Green (Brandon), Josh Hacker, Mason Hacker, Kaitlin Williams (Cody), Kirsten Figaro and Russell Edmundson; great-grandchildren: Bryson Cline, Calin Cline, Lucas Baxter, Keegan Green, Braxton Green and Miles Williams; her siblings: Linda Reynolds (Pete), Libby Hiatt (Willie), Melvin Martin (Judy) and Bobby Martin (Luanne); and her special niece and nephew, Malinda Cheryl Hiatt and Ronnie Hiatt, along with many other nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her loving fur-baby, Sugar, and her childhood friend, Judy Eubanks White.

Her funeral will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Boyd officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Bridgeton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
