Nancy Kuhlthau Huff, 84, of New Bern passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
Nancy and her husband, Will, lived in Oriental, NC and were members of Oriental United Methodist Church for 25 years. They loved to travel and sailed to many places throughout the years. She was a member of SCOO in Oriental. Her career could be defined as volunteer. She was always involved with activities within the church including the choir and the Christmas giving tree. She was instrumental in the formation of the HOPE Clinic serving as president of the board for many years and was active in fundraising from the beginning. She volunteered with PC Hospice and served as the chaplain for several years. She also worked in the Hospice Thrift Shop. She also sang as an Alto for the Pamlico Chorale for many years.
After moving to New Bern, NC, she and Will became members of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara Kuhlthau, four sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, Willard “Will” Huff; children, Thomas (Sophie) Huff, Daniel (Marty Robertson) Huff, Cheryl Ann (Michael Morgan) Huff, and Kevin (Sara Dexter) Huff; and six grandchildren, Ian, Gabriel, Mia, Luca, Nathaniel & Alexander Huff.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11 th at Trinity United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to either Oriental United Methodist Church or Trinity United Methodist Church, with the notation “Designated for Mission Committee”, Hope Clinic or Pamlico County Hospice.
