Orell "O.V." Vasco Rowe Jr.

Orell V. Rowe, 93, of New Bern, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at The Home Place of New Bern.

O.V., as he was known to his family and friends, was a caring husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Betty, who he affectionally called “Honey”.

O.V. retired from the Coast Guard Reserve as Commander, and from Cherry Point NARF after 30 years.

He will be greatly missed by daughters, Kathy R. McKenna and husband, Charles, Jeannie R. Holton and husband, Dennis, and son, Fred Rowe and husband, John; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of New Bern. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025.
