Patricia “Pat” Ann Chupela O’Donnell, 75, of Minnesott Beach, passed away at her home on June 14, 2026.
Pat was a woman whose warmth, energy, and generous spirit touched countless lives. A devoted member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, she lived her faith through service, kindness, and a genuine love for others. She was loved by everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Pat was a respected media expert, lending her talents to the GOP and the Oriental Theater. Yet, it was her passion for health, fitness, and bringing people together that made an especially lasting impact. For many years, she served as a beloved Zumba instructor at the YMCA in New Bern, at her church, and at numerous other locations throughout the area. Her classes were more than exercise – they were celebrations filled with laughter, encouragement, and joy. Through her enthusiasm and infectious smile, she inspired people of all ages to embrace life and stay active.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bernadine Chupela and brothers, George and John Chupela.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Patrick “Sarge” O’Donnell; son, Joseph Marrone; beloved grandson, Maverick Marrone; and brothers, Joseph, William Jr., and David Chupela.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Pamlico County Fishes and Loaves, PCFLO, Inc. PO Box 771, Oriental, NC 28571.
