Rev. Phillip Michael Lewis, 75, of Edward, NC, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior at his home on July 14, 2026. Though his earthly journey has ended, he is now receiving the eternal reward he faithfully preached, sang about, and looked forward to throughout his life.
Phillip was an ordained minister with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church through the North Carolina Conference. A devoted member and pastor of Lowland Pentecostal Holiness Church, he dedicated his life to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ with unwavering faith, humility, and compassion. He was an anointed preacher whose messages came from a heart completely devoted to God. He truly lived the life he preached, serving as a faithful soldier of the cross and an example of Christ’s love to everyone he encountered.
In addition to his ministry, Phillip was a gifted guitar player who loved using his musical talents to worship the Lord. He found great joy in visiting the sick and shut-ins, offering encouragement, prayer, and hope to those in need. He was an avid student of God’s Word and never hesitated to pray with anyone, anywhere, at any time. His faith was genuine, his love was sincere, and his greatest desire was to see others come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Phillip was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rev. William H. Lewis and Frances Lewis; his brothers, Rev. Terry Lewis and David Harold Lewis; and his father-in-law, Murray Sadler.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife Tammy Lewis; his sister, Sharon Rice (James) of Lowland; his mother-in-law, Diane Sadler of Aurora; his sister-in-law, Marie Lewis; along with many extended family members, church family, and countless friends.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cared for Phillip throughout his illness, visited him, and faithfully lifted him up in prayer. They extend a special thank you to the hospice nurses and caregivers for their compassionate care, as well as to Dr. Brent Gill for his kindness and dedication.
Tammy shares this simple but heartfelt message. “Thank you for being my love for 42 years.”
A funeral service to celebrate Rev. Lewis’ life and his faithful ministry will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18th in the chapel at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Dwayne Boyd and Rev. Danny Nelson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17th at the funeral home.
