Ramona Mae Gray Brinson of New Bern passed away at the age of 56, on September 11, 2018.
She was known all through life as Monie or Monie Mae. Born and raised in New Bern to parents, John & Ramona Gray on August 18, 1962, she was the youngest of three children.
After graduating from New Bern High School, she attended Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh. After finishing college, her career started in Raleigh and then took her to Georgia, California and eventually back to North Carolina. After returning to the New Bern area, she received a license in Real Estate. Becoming a Broker, she opened her own firm, Lighthouse Realty, in Arapahoe. Her failing health attributed to her reluctantly closing her business. Monie truly loved assisting clients with their real estate ventures.
Vibrant, outgoing, friendly, witty, funny, as well as someone who spoke her mind, describes her well. Her presence will be greatly missed by many.
Monie was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Brinson; and her brother, Riley Gray.
She is survived by her parents, John and Ramona Gray; sister, Helen Ewing (Glenn), Lindsey Brinson, who affectionately called her “Nana”; nieces, Courtney Scheper Rhodes (Matthew) and Kelsey Gray Ewing. Also, Monie had great nieces, Matelyn Iris Rhodes and Riley Kate Rhodes; many aunts; uncles and cousins. She is also survived by Bruce Nobles, longtime companion, whose love and devotion were unwavering.
Her funeral will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22 nd at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Boyd officiating. Interment will be in Harper Cemetery, Arapahoe.
