Randy Eugene Wood

Randy Eugene Wood, 62, of New Bern passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at UNC Hospitals-Chapel Hill.

Randy retired from PCS Phosphate after 36 years of service. He cherished spending time with his family boating. In his leisure time he found solace in writing. Most days he could be found sharing stories with friends at Bella’s Coffee Shop in New Bern.

He was preceded in death be his parents, James, Sr. and Essie Mae Wood.

Randy leaves to cherish his memory sons, Ashley Wood (Anne) and Zachary Wood (Carlyn); brother, James Wood, Jr. (Patricia); sisters, Wanda Long (Paul) and Elizabeth Arthur; and two grandchildren, Kai Wood and Rowan Wood.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to any veteran foundation or The Independence Fund, 412 Louise Ave., Charlotte, NC 28204.
