Richard Lee Huffaker, Sr.

Richard Lee Huffaker, Sr., 86, of Vanceboro passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Pruitt Health-Trent.

He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and attended Juniper Free Will Baptist Church. He is a U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy veteran and later retired from TexasGulf/PCS Phosphate. He volunteered at the hospital each year as “Santa Claus”.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynette Huffaker.

He is survived by sons, Richard Huffaker, Jr. and Leon C. Huffaker; daughter, Kriste Richards and husband, Frank Richards Jr.; sisters, Patsy & Diane; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

His graveside service with military honors will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10 ^th at New Bern Memorial Cemetery with Pastor David Linton officiating.
