Robert Eugene Britt, Sr. passed away on Sun., April 24, 2022 in New Bern, NC at home surrounded by his wife and son. Robert was born in Lindale, Floyd Co., GA, Nov. 5, 1934, and lived to be 87 yrs. of age.

He is preceded in death by parents, Colbert Effin Britt, Sr. and Grace Mae (Bassett) Britt-Keppell, and siblings, Colbert Britt, Jr., Joyce (Britt) Riddell, and Valaree (Britt) Carter (Mike).  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances (McSorley) Britt, and children, Robbie (Britt) Core (Tom) of Tallahassee, FL, Elizabeth (Britt) Bramel (Phillip) of Rogers, AR, Robert Britt, Jr. of New Bern, NC, and Cheryl (Britt) Bowman (Paul) of Waxhaw, NC.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Collin, Hayden, Clayton, & Ethan Bramel, William “Dustin” Norris and Olivia Bowman.  He has three great grandchildren, Eliot, Emmet and Violette Bramel, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Robert, having an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, owned and sold cotton goods, built hotels for Days Inn across the southern states, and created several family-operated businesses in the construction and building supply industry.  He enjoyed building both residential and commercial properties in the greater Orlando area.

Robert was passionate about church ministries, serving as Head Usher at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Orlando, FL, the vestry and stewardship committee at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Longwood, FL., and was one of the founders of Emmanuel Church, serving on the vestry of Grace Anglican Church, New Bern, NC.

Robert will be remembered as a hard worker, diligent provider, and a man deeply loved and cherished by his family and friends.  He was supportive to all his children.

The family is most grateful to the many doctors, nurses, homecare providers and hospice workers that cared for him throughout the years.

The Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 pm at Grace Anglican Church, 3407 Red Fox Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
