It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert “Robby” Francis McCotter, Jr. on Sunday, April 20th, at age 68, Robby unexpectedly passed in his beloved home in Vandemere, NC.

Robby was born on April 12th, 1957, in New Bern to Robert “Bobby” and Thelma McCotter. Upon graduating from Pamlico County High School in 1975, Robby attended and later graduated from NC State University in 1977 with a degree in Agriculture. He spent many years dedicated to farming - working alongside family and friends at McCotter Farms, and later, Sackett Potatoes.

Robby spent a life he loved in Vandemere. He was an active member of his community and took pride in serving on the town board. Some of his other joys in life involved spending time out on the boat fishing or having a new camping adventure alongside his wife, Debbie, in their RV.

Robby was a loving husband, father, papa, and friend. He will be missed greatly by so many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma and father, Bobby. Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Debra “Debbie” McCotter; daughters, Chelsey McCotter Eslava (Juanse) and Carly Schneider (Andrew); and grandsons, Theo and Emmett Schneider.

A service to honor Robby’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 26th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am prior to the service. A procession will follow the service to Celestial Memorial Gardens.
