Roger Dale Barber, Sr., 74 of the Small community in Beaufort County, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at home surrounded by family.

Roger is a member of White Hill Free Will Baptist Church. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of DAV. Roger was known for his selfless nature, always putting the needs of those around him ahead of his own. He took great pride in hauling fish as a long-haul truck driver. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Barber, Jr.; mother, Agnes Etters; father, John Barber; brothers, Johnny and Ray Barber, and Wally and Billy Etters; sisters, Sandra Parker, Jeannette Woolard, and Sylvia Jones.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 17 years, Wanda Barber; daughter, Angela Barber; stepsons, Corey Jones and Kendall Pryor; brothers, Jerry Barber (Linda), and Daryl Barber (Amy); sister, Pam Barber; and eight grandchildren, Barry McNinch, Avery McNinch, Dylan Ward, Hope Hagen (Brody), Layna Barber, Corey Jones, Jr., Shyanne Jones, and Tabitha Pryor.

His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 22nd at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Mills officiating. Interment with military honors will follow immediately in White Hill FWB Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home.
