Roger Howard Ensley

Roger Howard Ensley, 87, of Arapahoe, passed away peacefully at his home on July 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Following his honorable service in the U. S. Air Force, Roger returned to his roots in Pamlico County, where he built a life centered on faith, family, and community. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard M. Ensley and Wilma Keel Ensley; son, Mark Ensley; son-in-law, Joe Daw; and brothers, Keel and Donnie Ensley.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of more than 63 years, Shirley Woodard Ensley; his daughter, Tammy Ferrell; and son-in-law, Jake Ferrell; along with many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to our country.
