Ronald Douglas Hardison, 85, passed away peacefully at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Ronald was a native of Pamlico County, having lived here all his life. He was known for his humor and quick wit, but most of all his kind heart. He always had a story to tell about the old days and how things used to be back when. He took great pride in his family and was so proud of all of their accomplishments. He loved the outdoors and working with his hands. He was an avid deer hunter for many years until his health declined. Ronald made his living by painting and repairing vehicles for many years but his greatest passion was his “shop” in Reelsboro where he owned and operated his lawnmower repair shop and barber shop. He was proud to tell folks that he had been a barber in Pamlico County for over 60 years. He truly leaves behind a legacy and shoes that will be hard to fill.
Ronald is preceded in death by his father, Carl Hardison, mother Evelyn Brinson Hardison, brothers Albert, Alvin and Charles Hardison, step-son, Bruce Holton, and his loving wife of 46 years, Laura Hardison.
Leaving behind to cherish his memory are son, Mike (Marie) Holton; and daughters, Leone Holton Lewis and Beverly Hardison Guimbal (Glynn); five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and countless friends who loved and adored him.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Crystal Coast Hospice House for the unwavering love, support and compassion that was shown to them during this time.
Services will be Saturday, August 9th at 2 pm at New Hope Christian Church in Reelsboro with Pastors Michael Roach and Joe Peters officiating.
