Roy Allen Batson, 85, of Grantsboro passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehab Center.

Roy was a man of faith who loved the Lord with all his heart. He is a member of Word Fellowship Church. He spent the majority of his career as a commercial fisherman or a heavy equipment operator. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing; however, Roy’s passion was for his American Pit Bull Terriers.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his children, Harry Roberts (Debbie), Becky Miller (Danny), Joey Roberts (Joy), and Mitchell Roberts (Anna); grandchildren, Neal Miller (Brittany), Chris Roberts (Connie), Megan Buck (Allen), Tammi Sinclair (John), Morgan Spear (Jake), Krista Moore (S. Moore), John Paul Newton, Charles Howell, Sherry Riggs (Will), and Bryan Miller; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sadie Batson; his wife, Mary Batson; six sisters; and two brothers.

A funeral service to honor Roy’s life will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 4th at Word Fellowship Church with the Rev. Owen Lupton officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church.
