Sarah "Imogene" Land Dunbar

Sarah Imogene Land Dunbar, 90, passed from her earthly life into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, August 19, 2024.

She was born on February 18, 1934, to Columbus and Mahalia Land.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Dunbar; her three brothers, Julian Land, Kenneth Land and Frank Land; and her grandson, Brock Dunbar.

She is survived by her children, Beverly Spieler (Hank), Valerie Dunbar (Roy), Wayne Dunbar (Cathy), Mark Dunbar (Maxine), and Reed Dunbar (Laurie), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone who knew her.

Imogene was a faithful Christian and a devoted member of Bayboro Missionary Baptist Church for many years.   She graduated from Pamlico County High School in 1952 and lived most of her life in Bayboro, NC.  She retired from Pamlico Social Services Department in 1994 after 22 years of service.

Her funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 2 :00 PM at Bayboro Missionary Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM.
