Sharon "SJ" Joyce Pender Bennett

Sharon Joyce (Pender) Bennett, lovingly known as SJ, of Grantsboro, NC, passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2026, at the age of 79. SJ was born on July 30, 1946, to Bob and Helen Pender in Endwell, New York. She attended Maine-Endwell Senior High School, graduating with the class of 1964. SJ went on to attend SUNY Delhi, Class of 1966, where she studied business, and later pursued dental hygiene at Wayne Community College, earning her degree in 1993. She took pride in her work and truly loved caring for her patients.

SJ met her beloved husband, John Bennett, and they married in 1994, sharing many wonderful years together, enjoying the simple and joyful moments. They shared a love for beach music, shagging, boat rides, and time together at the beach. Their love was a constant source of comfort and happiness, and she treasured every moment spent by his side.

SJ carried deep love for her children and found her greatest purpose and joy in being Nana to her grandchildren and her great-grandson. She also cherished her pets, Buddydog, Bella Grace, Bobo and Shemus, who she proudly called her “fur babies”.

SJ’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. Through prayer, she found comfort, joy, and strength in difficult moments. It was a steady presence that brought her peace and hope.

In honoring her wishes, no services will be held. Those who loved SJ will continue to celebrate her life through cherished memories and the love she shared. She will be missed deeply and remembered with love.
