Shirley Wall Nanney

Shirley Wall Nanney, 85, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

She is a member of Aurora United Methodist Church where she played the organ for many years. Shirley retired from PCS Phosphate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Richard “Dick” Nanney; brothers, Dudley, Harold and Homer Wall; and sister, Peggy Goodwin.

She is survived by sons, Doug Cross & wife, Patricia, and Don Cross & wife, Kay; stepchildren, Dudley Nanney & wife, Karen, David “Richard” Nanney & wife, Amy, and Kim Toler & husband, Johnnie; five grandchildren, Michael Cross (Macy), Magen Check (Alec), Tyler Cross (Melissa), Zachary Cross (Kathryn), and Jonathan Cross (Alison); one great-grandchild, Easton Edward Cross; five step-grandchildren, David Nanney III, Ashely Grant, Josh Toler, Phillip Nanney, and Matthew Nanney; and 14 step great-grandchildren.

In an effort to keep everyone safe from sickness, a private funeral service will be held. Interment will be in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
