Sue Gaskins Ireland passed peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, just one day after celebrating her 90th birthday.
Sue was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and faithful friend whose life reflected grace, humility, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She lived a life centered on faith and service to others, and her family was always the greatest joy and priority of her life.
Although her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in knowing she lived a beautiful and meaningful life filled with faith, love, and devotion to others.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie F. Ireland and granddaughter, Ashly Grey Wallace.
She is survived by her children, Jackie F. Ireland, Jr. (Pamela), Guy Dwayne Ireland (Paula) and Carla Ireland Spencer; grandchildren, Jaclyn E. Gardner (Bucky), Evan Dwayne Ireland (Megan), Aimee Love, David Spencer, Jr. (Kimmie), Scott Spencer (Courtnee), Jenny Satsatin (Romeo); great-grandchildren, Jackson Wayne, Ava Elaine and Lena Grey Nolin, Anna Grace and Colin Ireland, Miles Love, Cora Kathleen and Luke Spencer, Zelda Spencer, and Tori Satsatin. She also leaves behind her sister, Lucille Hobson, many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel at noon on Friday, May 29th. Interment will be private in Paul Cemetery, Arapahoe.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service and at other times at her home.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Sue’s devoted caregivers and the many individuals who lovingly cared for her during her final years. Their compassion, patience, and faithful support provided comfort, dignity, and peace, and the family will remain forever grateful for the love they showed her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Pamlico, PO Box 6, Bayboro, NC 28515.
