Sydney Anderson Austin

Sydney Frances Anderson Austin, 82, of Aurora, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House.

She is a member of Campbells Creek United Methodist Church and attended Pamlico United Methodist Church.  She worked at the Pamlico Co. Board of Education, TexasGulf, and was a substitute teacher. She was also a member of the Sassy Red Hat Fossils, a board member of Friends of Aurora Library and was a former Girl Scout Leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred A. and Reba Anderson; husband, Harvey Paul Austin; and brother, Freddie Anderson.

She is survived by her son, James “Jim” Austin and wife, Ann; daughters, Karen Austin Cayton and husband, Sid, and Paula Austin Gilgo and husband, Murray; sister-in-law, Martha Anderson; niece, Caroline Anderson; nephew, Ben Anderson and wife, Shirley; grandchildren, Natalie (Justin) Sepulveda, Ashlea Austin (Bud) Robertson, Kara Cayton (Jordan) Egan, Madison Gilgo, and Andrew Gilgo; and four great grandchildren, Evy and Parker Sepulveda, Wyatt Egan, and Hunter Robertson.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 19 ^th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Roach officiating.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
