Teresa Lupton Morris
January 13, 1959 – July 1, 2018
Teresa Gail Lupton was born January 13, 1959 in Morehead City, NC. Raised in Arapahoe, NC, she attended Pamlico County High School where she met the love of her life in 1974 and graduated in 1977. In 1981 she was second runner-up in the Miss Wilson Pageant, an official preliminary pageant to Miss North Carolina and Miss America. Teresa went back to school as a single mom in her thirties to earn her degree in Environmental Science. With her degree in hand she went to work for the North Carolina Division of Water Quality on the Neuse River Rapid Response Team. She loved her career and she loved working on the waters of Eastern North Carolina. In 2008 she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, and in 2010 she finally became Teresa Morris.
Teresa was a kind and generous person, always seeing the best in others and encouraging those around her to reach for the best within themselves. She loved to sing and will be remembered for her beautiful voice. Teresa was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Teresa is survived by the love of her life, her husband Stephen Morris, her daughter Victoria Hardison, her parents Annie Wiggins Flowers (and husband, Doug Flowers) and Graydon Lupton (and wife, Pat Lupton), her sister Linda Williams Morning (and husband, Curt Morning), her nephews Steven Lupton, RJ Lupton, Troy Swindell, Jr. and niece, Amber Taylor. She is predeceased by her brothers, Grady Lupton and Robert Lupton.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, July 5 th , 2018 at 7:00 PM at Arapahoe Free Will Baptist Church, 7970 NC Hwy. 306, Arapahoe, NC.
