Tommy Edward Geairn, Sr.

Tommy Edward Geairn, Sr. of New Bern, NC, formerly of Elkhart, IN, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021, at home.

He worked at Elixir as a plant foreman from 1972-1984 and Kinro MFG as plant manager from 1984-2012. He was also a partner with his father in Geairn Trucking. He was a former president and founding board member of River Manor Homeowners Association. He was an honest, hardworking, loyal man that had a heart for those in need including rescuing, caring for and rehoming over 20 cats. He enjoyed car rides with his wife, taking his wife and children on many adventures.

He is survived by his wife, Bette Jean Garber Geairn; daughter, Cindy (Jay) Barker; son, Tommy (Dianna) Geairn; brother, James Geairn; grandchildren, Tommy (Sarah) Geairn; Frederyc (Elizabeth) Patterson; Kira Geairn, Alexa (Justin) Mills, Jacob Patterson (Hannah Ballarta), Tyra Cunningham and Johnny Barker; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, M. Irene Smith Geairn and James Edward Geairn; sister, Janice (Roger) Hartman; and three infant brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Elkhart, IN.
