Tony Wallace Leary, Jr.

On Thursday, April 6, 2023, Tony W. Leary, Jr. of New Bern, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Tony was an avid fisherman who loved to spend every moment he could on his boat bass fishing. When he wasn’t on the water he spent his time at every baseball practice and game watching Logan play ball. His love and understanding of the game of baseball was unmatched by most.

He also loved Elvis. He knew every song Elvis ever recorded and never missed the chance to remind everyone of his birthday when it came around. On top of all of this, Tony dedicated over 30 years to Colony Tire Corporation. He truly enjoyed what he did every day. Above all, Tony loved his family. There was never a time they needed him that he didn’t step up to the plate.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Tony W. Leary, Sr.; sister, Linda Davis; brother, Wesley Leary; brother, Johnny Leary.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are wife, Patricia Leary; mother, Margaret Leary; son, Michael Leary (Robin); son, Nicholas Leary; daughter, Jennifer Leary; son, Logan Leary; step daughter, Bethany Kornegay; and six grandchildren, Matthew Leary, Ariel Drake, Alyssa Hardison, Isaac Jones, Maci Leary, and Jiona Staten.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11 ^th at the funeral home.

His memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12 ^th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel, 52 Bryant St. Alliance/Grantsboro, NC 28529.
