Travia Jean Chapman Radtke

Travia Jean Radtke, 87, of Merritt, NC passed away at her home on August 15, 2022, after a year-long illness.

Originally from Flintstone, GA, Travia moved to New Jersey as a young mother with her husband John. During this time, she was also an avid bowler. She competed individually and with teams in tournaments, collecting many trophies along the way. Travia’s sport of choice then switched to golf once she moved to North Carolina after John retired. She enjoyed golf so much she convinced her husband of 62 years to learn the game and together they played on courses all across the country. When not bowling or golfing, Travia had a fondness for classic cinema, especially musicals and black and white movies.

Travia is survived lovingly by her husband, John Radtke, and three children, Travia (Joe) Cyr, Sandra Rodaligo, John Radtke Jr., along with four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Grace (Roberts) Chapman and three siblings, William, Winfred, and Nadine.
