Virgil Wilson

Virgil Wilson, 87 of Grantsboro, NC passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Croatan Village Assisted Living, New Bern, NC.

Virgil was born September 29, 1935, to Marcelous and Thelma M. Wilson of Vanceboro, NC. He joined the Navy in 1952 and served his country until 1971 with active duty in Vietnam.

Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Norma Dail Wilson; sons, John Wilson (Rhonda) of Texas, Brooks Wilson (Christina) of Arizona; daughter, Shirley Hodges; stepson, Wayne Smith of Emerald Isle; stepdaughter, Hazel Baker (Keith) of Grantsboro; along with numerous grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents; son, Daniel Wilson; brother, Linwood Earl Wilson; and sister, Elizabeth W. Howard.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Craven County and Pamlico County Hospices for all their help during this difficult time.

His memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20th at New Life Praise and Worship Ministries located at 11089 Hwy 55 E. Grantsboro, NC.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church.
