Wayne Raye Leary Potter, 89, of Vanceboro previously of Hobucken and Lowland, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 1, 2022, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Wayne Raye was born in Hobucken on July 7, 1933, to Lathiel and Allie Williamson Leary. She was widowed on March 11, 2017, from her husband, Orien C. Potter. She spent her life working on their farm and raising their children in Hobucken and Lowland for the best part of her life, living the last 15 years in Vanceboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Graham Montier Potter; three brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Glory Ann Potter; son, Grady Potter; grandchildren, Casey Potter Kites, Amanda Potter Williams, Holly White, and Cody White; and five great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 5 ^th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Lewis and Rev. Blaney Rowe officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
