William "Billy" Eugene Bray

William “Billy” Eugene Bray, 67, of Cash Corner passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at home in the care of his family (and animals) with the assistance of hospice.

He will be remembered as a selfless, giving man that managed to have joy in whatever circumstance or situation he found himself. To the frustration of his parents, as a child Billy was constantly taking apart every gadget, tool, and appliance they had to find out how it worked - including a blender his mother borrowed from a neighbor.  It was possibly his insatiable interest that led him to the study of auto mechanics at Lenoir Community College. He worked as a mechanic, specializing in front end alignment for much of his life. In his later career he was a parts salesman with Pamlico Parts.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Bray; his father Gene Bray and second wife, Agnes; and brothers, Ira Thomas Bray and Daniel Lee Bray and sister-in-law Emily Gooding.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Florence Bray; son, Alex Bray and partner, Collene; sister, Edie Panichelli and spouse, Harry; and sister-in-law, Virginia Woodhouse and spouse, Angela Purcell.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Roach officiating. There will be no graveside service.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 20 ^th at the funeral home.
