William Bruce Broughton, 82, of Reelsboro passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehab Center.

He is a member of Trent Free Will Baptist Church. Bruce retired from NADEP at Cherry Point but before, during and after his career, he showcased his talent as a carpenter. He found joy in fishing, shrimping, and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nellie Christine Broughton.

Those remaining to treasure his memory are sons, Wesley Broughton (Terri) and Leslie Broughton; daughter, Anne Marie Benjamin (Mike); sisters, Billie Jean Hardy and Kay Jones (B.P.); five grandsons, Jason, Gary Jr., Tanner, Devon, and Hunter; and two great-granddaughters, Josephina and Maci.

A funeral service to honor Bruce’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 10th at Reelsboro Christian Church with the Rev. McDonald Bennett and Rev. Riley Green officiating. Interment will be in Sandhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
