May 2, 1935 — February 9, 2021
William “Bill” H. Carawan, Jr., 85, of Lillington, NC, formerly of Grantsboro, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Universal Healthcare in Lillington.
He is a member of Rock of Zion OFWB Church. Bill retired from the U.S. Airforce and MCAS-Cherry Point Civil Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. & Mary Carawan and his son, Timmy Carawan.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Della P. Carawan; son, Derek Carawan & wife, Ellen, of Raleigh; daughters, Kim Ferguson and husband, Joe, of Middleburg, FL, and Dodie Boyles and husband, Joe, of Fuquay-Varina; brother, Bobby Carawan and wife, Judy, of Grantsboro; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Derald, Jessi, Parker, Christina, Patrick, Alec, Cooper, Noah, and Marlo; and five great grandchildren.
A private graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date at Celestial Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Rock of Zion OFWB Church, PO Box 381, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
