William “Bill” Allen Dickerson, 75, of New Bern passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
He was a member of Trenton Pentecostal Holiness Church. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, Gunnery Sgt., after 22 years of service. He was then employed with the Atlantic Beach Police Department K9 unit for 4 years then New Bern K9 officer along with “Keno” for 10 years. He was a HAMM Radio Operator, flew radio-controlled airplanes and enjoyed riding his TerraTrike, always pulling one of his dogs. He was a talented carpenter and was widely known for his woodworking skills.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Swindell Dickerson; daughters, Terry Lynn Conway and Melissa (Duane) Carr; step-daughters, Anna “Nene” Dixon and Rachel Dixon; and granddaughter, Tina Marie (John Henry).
His memorial service, with military honors, will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27 th at Trenton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Those wishing to speak with the family may do so immediately following the service at the church.
