William Franklin Ormond,76, of Minnesott Beach. Frank left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at home, surrounded by the ones who loved him the most, his daughter, his wife, and his faithful furry friend, Scooter.
Frankie retired from PCS Phosphate with 36 years of service in Central Maintenance. He is a member of Arapahoe Methodist Church, Vanceboro Masonic Lodge #433, The Pamlico County Shrine Club, The Jesters, Road Runner’s, Sudan Camping Club and Sudan Truckers for 25 years.
Frankie was a lover. He loved his family, especially his two new great grandsons born this year. He loved growing a garden, the bigger, the better. He loved the river, being on it and watching it. He loved spending the winters in Florida at Paradise Park where he had many friends and enjoyed cooking for them. He loved his shop. He could spend hours there, accomplishing nothing but being surrounded by his many “toys”. He could never have enough. He loved travelling, and would go anywhere that Nancy planned, as long as he didn’t have to pack anything. He loved Scooter. He was constantly checking on his whereabouts, which was usually in his lap. He loved making people laugh. He thought it was funny to pull jokes on people. He loved eating out and did his share of it. He loved music, both singing and listening, and was a “shagger” in his time.
It's obvious that Frank enjoyed life and touched the lives of many. He will certainly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Peggy Ormond and paternal grandparents, Wesley and Melba Ormond.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 44 years, Nancy Ormond; children, Wendy Wells (Joe), Joey Register (Ashley), John Register (Shannon), William F. “Buddy” Ormond (Ann); brother, Curtis Ormond (Phyllis); grandchildren, Josh Wells (Taylor), Hailee Register, Logan Register, Taylor Register, Wesley Register, Leah Ormond and Billy Ormond; two great-grandchildren, Landon Wells and Little John Register; and his furry friend, Scooter.
A funeral service to honor Frankie’s life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 29th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Horne and Rev. Hal Harbin officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
